Arkansas Hospice presents the Michael V. Aureli Compass Award to Bruce Holsted
Bruce Holsted, a longtime Arkansas Hospice volunteer and Arkansas Hospice Foundation board member, received the third annual Michael V. Aureli Compass Award during Party at the Plaza, the Foundation’s April 27th event to benefit the Arkansas Hospice Family of Care.
The award is named for Arkansas Hospice Co-Founder Michael Aureli, who died in 2011 as a patient in the organization’s care. The recognition is presented to an individual who embodies the true nature of a “hospice heart,” and whose involvement has furthered the mission of Arkansas Hospice’s Family of Care.
Bruce Holsted and his wife, Becky, have graciously supported Arkansas Hospice and the Arkansas Hospice Foundation since 2007.
With more than a decade of experience as an Arkansas Hospice volunteer, Bruce has a true “hospice heart” and brings a sense of calmness, compassion and trust to all he encounters with his work at Arkansas Hospice – whether it’s patients, staff or fellow volunteers. In 2011, he was recognized as Arkansas Hospice’s volunteer of the year for his continued dedication.
In September 2016, Bruce was elected to the Arkansas Hospice Foundation Board of Directors. Bruce has been an officer on the Foundation board since October 2018, and he currently serves as chair emeritus.
Bruce is founder and the recently retired CEO of Holsted Companies, which specializes in servicing tower and antenna equipment.
