Palliative Care

Care coordination and symptom management for those living with serious and chronic illness.

What is palliative care?

LifeTouch Health palliative care helps patients with a serious or chronic illness – and their families – navigate care, manage symptoms and enjoy life. As a nonprofit, community-based health care service, maximizing quality of life is our highest goal.

Like many types of medical care, LifeTouch Health palliative care is provided by a team of doctors, nurses and other health care specialists. While curative care, hospice and palliative care serve different purposes, they share many similarities, including:

  • Helping patients manage symptoms

  • Understanding treatment options

  • Meeting goals of care

  • Navigating the complicated health care system

  • Identifying and meeting needs for spiritual or emotional care

Who can benefit from palliative care?

  • Patients with a serious or chronic illness, whether or not they are pursuing curative care

  • Patients, caregivers and family members who need help navigating the complex health care system

What makes palliative care unique?

Palliative care is available at any stage of a patient’s chronic or serious illness. Patients can add palliative care to support their curative treatment plan, even if they were only recently diagnosed.

When can I start palliative care?

At any point during your illness, LifeTouch’s palliative care team can help. No matter your age, diagnosis or physical impairment, or whether or not you are receiving curative treatment for your condition, our team can help.

How is palliative care paid for?
